I don’t know if anyone else has noticed, but for me it’s been cold af where I live at. As we are going through the winter season the temperature starts to decline and at times the hair may be harder to manage. So this post is dedicated to how to maintain your 360 waves in the winter. These tips mainly revolve around moisture. Check them out below:

Condition as much as possible. For normal to dry hair, deep condition for 20 minutes two to three times a week during the winter months. This is the time to co-wash if you never have (washing your hair with only conditioner and not shampoo).

Don’t overdo the wash and styles.
Washing your hair too often strips it of its natural oils and nutrients. If you need to, use a leave-in conditioner or rinse your hair thoroughly in the shower.

A healthy lifestyle means healthier hair. Drinking enough water and getting frequent scalp massages are just some of the simple ways to keep your hair silky and shiny. But the real secret comes from within, as any nutritional deficiencies can lead to adverse effects on your hair. Diet profoundly effects the health of not only internal systems and organs, but external ones as well.

Since we are already seeing temperatures getting oddly frigid, it’s a good idea to start early and get your hair into the best condition possible. Winter hasn’t even officially started yet so you know once January come around it’s going to be cold as a mf. Be proactive. This is easier than waiting for damage to happen and then trying to mend it.

Get a good cut. This will make sure that the hair ends are strong and more able to fight the extremes of temperature.

Get into the habit of applying a moisturizer multiple times a day. Only apply it to the bottom half of your hair to avoid the hair on the crown getting too heavy and lank. This can be a wash and rinse conditioner, serum, leave-in or spray shine. It really doesn’t matter how, just make sure that you’re constantly pumping moisture into your head. During the summer you can get away with moisturizing twice or even once a day but when it starts to get cold outside you probably should double that. Just think about how chapped your lips get throughout the day.

Avoid having the shower too hot. It all helps to minimize the amount of heat your hair has to deal with at this time of year.

Styling products that contain alcohol can further dry hair so stay far away from those. Consider switching to alcohol-free formulas.
